Recognized by the Supreme Council of Universities in the List of Russian Universities Mordovia State University, which now enjoys the status of the National Research University, is a federal academic institution that follows Russian higher education and offers a full range of academic programs for undergraduate and postgraduate students, among its core activities of basic and applied research, more training courses and improved qualification for teaching staff and scientists. It is the main government institution of higher education in the province. Under the Federal Government’s Decree of 20 May 2010, The Ogarev Mordovia State University was awarded the category “National Research University”. Ogarev Mordovia State University is located in Saransk, the capital of the Mordovia Republic, 620 kilometers southeast of Moscow. It consists of 28 academic buildings, 12 dormitories (9 for undergraduate students and 3 for graduate students and faculty).
